  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ATP8B1, a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family, plays a crucial role in lipid homeostasis and biliary excretion of bile salts. Mutations in the ATP8B1 gene are linked to various liver disorders, particularly progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis type 1 (PFIC1), characterized by cholestasis and liver dysfunction in early childhood. This protein is involved in the transport of phospholipids and has been implicated in maintaining membrane integrity and function in hepatocytes. Recent studies have highlighted the importance of ATP8B1 in cellular processes beyond lipid transport, including its role in maintaining bile acid homeostasis and its potential involvement in the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Understanding the structure and function of ATP8B1 through recombinant protein studies is pivotal for elucidating its mechanistic pathways and interactions within lipid metabolism and cellular signaling. This research not only sheds light on the molecular underpinnings of genetic liver diseases but also opens avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting ATP8B1-related pathways. As a result, the recombinant expression of ATP8B1 is essential for studying its functional properties, exploring the impact of specific mutations, and developing potential strategies for gene therapy and pharmacological treatment of bile acid-related disorders.
