Fc Receptors

Fc receptor proteins are a class of cell membrane glycoproteins widely expressed on the surface of immune cells that can specifically bind to the Fc region of antibodies. They serve as important molecules bridging humoral immunity and cellular immunity. Major families include FcγR, FcαR, and FcεR, which recognize antibody isotypes such as IgG, IgA, and IgE, respectively. They participate in regulating various biological processes including phagocytosis, antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC), inflammatory responses, and immune cell activation and suppression. Recombinant Fc receptor proteins are produced using genetic engineering technology in expression systems such as mammalian cells and insect cells. These proteins are widely used in antibody drug affinity measurements, functional validation, screening and optimization, and mechanistic studies of drug action.
