Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which buffer is generally selected for affinity analysis? What are the requirements for protein buffer systems?

    Common buffers adopted for affinity analysis are PBS and HBS. For NTA sensor chips, EDTA must not be present in running buffers. For CM5 sensor chips, the ligand protein buffer should be free of amine-containing substances such as Tris. The buffer formulation of target proteins shall be confirmed prior to procurement. Recombinant proteins are manufactured in strict compliance with SPR experimental specifications to match relevant assay buffer requirements.

  • What sample materials are required for SPR measurement?

    Only two molecules involved in the interaction need to be prepared. Taking protein-compound interaction as an example, only the target protein (50–100 μg) and compound (1–2 mg) are required. All other reagents and consumables including sensor chips will be provided. A library of over 30,000 recombinant proteins is available for selection to eliminate concerns over protein sample supply.

  • What is the typical lead time for SPR testing services?

    The standard turnaround time for SPR testing services is within one week upon sample arrival. If the target protein is available from our in-stock library and expedited processing is requested for special orders, experimental results can be delivered within 2 to 3 working days.

  • Will multiple concentration gradients be configured for small-molecule compounds in SPR assays?

    For assays involving compound samples, 5 concentration gradients will be adopted by default. Customized gradient series with additional concentrations can be arranged upon specific client requests.
