Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Galectin-8 (GAL8) is a member of the galectin family, which are β-galactoside-binding proteins involved in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, and apoptosis. It is primarily expressed in various tissues, and its expression is often upregulated in pathological conditions such as cancer and inflammation. Research into GAL8 has gained significant attention due to its potential role in modulating immune responses and tumor progression. In cancer, GAL8 can influence tumor cell behavior by interacting with glycoproteins on the cell surface, thereby affecting signaling pathways that govern cell proliferation and survival. Moreover, GAL8 has been implicated in the regulation of immune cell functions, including T cell activation and antigen presentation, highlighting its dual role in tumor immunity. The study of recombinant GAL8 proteins allows for a deeper understanding of its structure-function relationships, potential therapeutic applications, and mechanisms of action. By producing and characterizing GAL8 in a controlled environment, researchers can investigate its interactions with other biomolecules and its effects on cellular processes. This research aims to elucidate the full spectrum of GAL8's biological significance and explore its utility as a biomarker or therapeutic target in cancer and other diseases.
