Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC22A12, also known as URAT1, is a vital protein encoded by the SLC22A12 gene, primarily involved in urate transport. Its significant role in renal urate reabsorption makes it a key player in regulating serum urate levels and, consequently, in the pathophysiology of gout and hyperuricemia. Mutations and dysfunctions of SLC22A12 have been implicated in genetic disorders, including renal hypouricemia, highlighting its importance in human health. Research on SLC22A12 recombinant protein aims to elucidate its structure-function relationships and interaction with urate and other substrates. The ability to express and purify SLC22A12 in a recombinant system allows scientists to perform detailed biochemical studies, assess its transport capabilities, and examine the effects of various ligands and potential inhibitors. Moreover, understanding its mechanism can facilitate the development of novel therapeutics targeting hyperuricemia, providing significant clinical benefits for patients suffering from related disorders. As the prevalence of gout and metabolic syndrome continues to rise globally, ongoing research on SLC22A12 is critical for advancing our knowledge of renal urate homeostasis and developing targeted treatments.
