Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
HMGCR (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase) is a crucial enzyme in the mevalonate pathway, responsible for the biosynthesis of cholesterol and other isoprenoids. This enzyme has gained significant attention in pharmaceutical research, particularly due to its role as a target for statin drugs, which are widely used to lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Understanding the structure and function of HMGCR is essential for the development of more effective and safer cholesterol-lowering therapies. Recent advancements in recombinant protein technology have enabled the production of HMGCR in various expression systems, facilitating detailed studies of its enzymatic activity, regulation, and interaction with inhibitors. Additionally, the study of HMGCR’s structure through techniques like X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy has provided insights into its catalytic mechanism and how mutations can influence its function. As research progresses, elucidating the dynamics of HMGCR and its role in lipid metabolism not only contributes to our understanding of metabolic diseases but also aids in the design of novel therapeutic agents that target the mevalonate pathway, further advancing treatment options for conditions such as hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis.
