Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
TetX is a flavin-dependent monooxygenase that has garnered significant attention in the field of antibiotic resistance research. Specifically, it is known for its role in conferring resistance to tetracycline antibiotics, a widely used class of antimicrobial agents. The emergence of tetracycline-resistant bacteria poses a major challenge to public health, making it imperative to understand the mechanisms underlying this resistance. TetX catalyzes the hydroxylation of tetracycline, leading to its inactivation and thereby preventing it from binding effectively to bacterial ribosomes. This enzymatic action highlights the evolutionary adaptations of bacteria in response to antibiotic pressure. Researchers have focused on the structural biology and biochemistry of TetX to elucidate its catalytic mechanisms and to explore potential strategies for countering bacterial resistance. Recombinant TetX proteins have been produced to study their enzymatic properties, examine interactions with tetracycline, and to develop inhibitors that could restore the efficacy of tetracycline against resistant strains. Understanding TetX and its function not only aids in the fight against antibiotic resistance but also contributes to the broader field of microbial physiology and biotechnology, potentially paving the way for novel therapeutic approaches.
