Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PCBD2 (pterin-4α-carbinolamine dehydratase 2) is an enzyme belonging to the pteridine-metabolizing enzyme family, predominantly expressed in various tissues, including the brain. The research on PCBD2 has gained traction due to its critical role in the biosynthesis of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), an essential cofactor for the enzymatic conversion of aromatic amino acids and the production of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin. Moreover, aberrations in BH4 levels have been implicated in several neuropsychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia and depression. Understanding the structure and function of PCBD2 is crucial for elucidating its involvement in these pathways and its potential as a therapeutic target. Recent studies have focused on recombinant expression of PCBD2 for biochemical characterization, enabling scientists to explore its enzymatic activity, substrate specificity, and regulatory mechanisms. The generation of recombinant PCBD2 also facilitates high-throughput screening for small molecules that may modulate its activity, presenting promising avenues for drug discovery aimed at managing disorders associated with BH4 deficiency. As research progresses, the comprehensive analysis of PCBD2 will not only deepen our understanding of pteridine metabolism but also pave the way for innovative strategies in the treatment of related neurological conditions.
