Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
OR5A2, a member of the olfactory receptor (OR) family, has garnered significant interest in recent years due to its potential role in the olfactory sensory system and its implications in various physiological and pathological processes. Unlike typical receptors, ORs like OR5A2 are primarily located in the nasal epithelium, where they play a crucial role in detecting odorant molecules, thus contributing to our sense of smell. Recent studies have suggested that OR5A2 may also be involved in non-canonical signaling pathways, influencing various cellular responses beyond olfaction, including modulation of immune responses and neuroprotection. The recombinant production of OR5A2 protein is essential for further understanding its structural, functional, and signaling characteristics through biochemical assays and molecular biology techniques. By generating and purifying OR5A2, researchers aim to investigate its ligand binding specificity, downstream signaling mechanisms, and potential therapeutic applications, particularly in diseases linked to olfactory dysfunction or neurodegenerative disorders. These studies not only expand our fundamental understanding of olfactory signaling but may also pave the way for targeted therapies that harness the unique properties of olfactory receptors like OR5A2. Thus, the exploration of recombinant OR5A2 presents a promising avenue for biomedical research, linking basic science to potential clinical applications.
