Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ALKBH proteins, part of the AlkB family, are known for their role in the repair of RNA and DNA, specifically in the removal of various alkylated bases, which can result from cellular processes or environmental factors. These proteins utilize a unique oxidative demethylation mechanism, allowing them to reverse harmful modifications that can lead to mutations and impede cellular function. Research into recombinant ALKBH proteins has gained momentum due to their potential implications in understanding cancer biology, neurodegenerative diseases, and epigenetic regulation. By producing these proteins in vitro, researchers can study their enzymatic activity, structural properties, and interactions with nucleic acids, ultimately contributing to the development of therapeutic strategies aimed at enhancing DNA and RNA repair mechanisms. Furthermore, exploring the regulation of ALKBH expression and activity provides insights into cellular responses to stress and the maintenance of genomic integrity, underscoring their importance in both basic biology and clinical applications.
