Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
VAMP2 (Vesicle-Associated Membrane Protein 2) is a crucial protein involved in the process of synaptic transmission, playing a significant role in the regulation of neurotransmitter release at presynaptic terminals. As a member of the SNARE (Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor Attachment protein REceptor) protein family, VAMP2 interacts with other SNARE proteins, such as syntaxin and SNAP-25, to facilitate the fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane, a fundamental process for communication between neurons. Due to its importance in synaptic plasticity and neurodevelopment, alterations in VAMP2 expression or function have been implicated in various neurological disorders, including schizophrenia, autism, and neurodegenerative diseases. Research on recombinant VAMP2 protein has provided valuable insights into its structural and functional properties, enabling scientists to study the mechanisms of synaptic vesicle exocytosis in greater detail. Investigating VAMP2 also opens avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting synaptic dysfunction. The development of recombinant VAMP2 allows for advanced biochemical assays, structural studies, and drug discovery efforts aimed at modulating synaptic transmission, highlighting its significance in neuroscience research.
