Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
GRIK3, also known as GluK3, is a member of the kainate receptor family, which are ionotropic glutamate receptors playing crucial roles in synaptic transmission and plasticity in the central nervous system. The dysfunction of GRIK3 has been implicated in various neurological disorders, including epilepsy, depression, and schizophrenia. Given its significant role in excitatory neurotransmission, understanding the structure and function of GRIK3 is vital for developing targeted therapeutics. Recombinant GRIK3 protein has emerged as a valuable tool for studying the receptor’s properties, including ligand-binding affinity, ion channel kinetics, and interactions with cellular signaling pathways. Furthermore, the generation of GRIK3 recombinant protein allows researchers to investigate the impact of mutations associated with neurological diseases, facilitating insights into disease mechanisms. Various expression systems, such as mammalian cells and yeast, are employed to produce functional GRIK3, enabling detailed biochemical and pharmacological studies. As research progresses, the exploration of GRIK3's role in synaptic function and pathology continues to highlight its potential as a therapeutic target, underscoring the importance of recombinant protein studies in neuroscientific research.
