  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

LTBP1 (Latent TGF-beta Binding Protein 1) is a crucial extracellular matrix protein involved in the regulation of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) activation and deposition of the matrix components. Research into LTBP1 has gained significant attention due to its pivotal role in various physiological and pathological processes, including tissue development, fibrosis, and cancer progression. LTBP1 is known for its ability to bind latent TGF-β and is involved in the proper localization of this growth factor within the extracellular matrix, thereby influencing cell signaling pathways related to growth, proliferation, and differentiation. Abnormal LTBP1 function or expression has been associated with several diseases, such as Marfan syndrome, pulmonary hypertension, and various forms of cancer, emphasizing its importance as a biomarker for disease progression and severity. The study of LTBP1 recombinant proteins has facilitated a deeper understanding of its structure-function relationships, allowing researchers to delineate the specific mechanisms through which LTBP1 modulates TGF-β activity and extracellular matrix dynamics. Investigating LTBP1 at the molecular level, including its interactions with other proteins and its role in cellular processes, may provide insights into novel therapeutic strategies targeting fibrotic diseases and cancers, thus highlighting the importance of LTBP1 as a target for drug development and biomarker identification in clinical settings.
