Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
FIG4 (Sac3) is a protein that plays a critical role in the regulation of phosphoinositides in cells, particularly in the endocytic pathway and neuronal functions. Mutations in the FIG4 gene have been linked to significant neurodegenerative diseases, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and other neuropathies, highlighting its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis. The protein functions as a part of the lipid phosphatase family, which is essential for the hydrolysis of phosphoinositides, thus influencing cellular signaling pathways and vesicular trafficking. Research into FIG4 has been intensified due to its potential as a therapeutic target, as understanding its structure and function may lead to novel treatment strategies for the associated diseases. Recent studies employing recombinant FIG4 have advanced our understanding of its enzymatic activity, interaction with other cellular components, and the impact of specific mutations on its function. This research is crucial for developing interventions that can mitigate the effects of FIG4-related pathologies, offering hope for patients suffering from these debilitating conditions.
