  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CAPN10 (calpain-10) is a member of the calpain family of cysteine proteases and has garnered considerable interest in the field of diabetes research due to its association with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Initial studies identified polymorphisms in the CAPN10 gene that are linked to insulin resistance and impaired glucose metabolism, highlighting its potential role in diabetic pathogenesis. The protein itself is primarily expressed in insulin-sensitive tissues, such as adipose tissue and skeletal muscle, where it is thought to modulate insulin signaling pathways. Moreover, CAPN10 is involved in various cellular processes, including apoptosis and inflammation, which are crucial in the context of metabolic diseases. Recent research has focused on the recombinant expression of CAPN10 to study its functional properties and regulatory mechanisms, aiming to elucidate its physiological role and investigate its potential as a therapeutic target. Understanding the biochemical functions of CAPN10 through recombinant protein studies may provide insights into strategies for preventing or treating T2DM by targeting the underlying molecular mechanisms. Additionally, the generation of CAPN10 recombinant proteins facilitates the development of specific inhibitors or modulators that could further advance therapeutic options for metabolic disorders. Thus, ongoing research into CAPN10 not only seeks to clarify its contribution to diabetes but also aims to pave the way for novel interventions that may improve metabolic health.
