  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

THEMIS (Thymocyte-expressed molecule involved in selection) is a critical protein involved in T-cell development and immune system regulation. Found predominantly in thymocytes, THEMIS plays a significant role in the positive and negative selection of T-cells, processes essential for generating a functional and self-tolerant T-cell repertoire. Research has shown that THEMIS interacts with various signaling pathways, notably those involving the T-cell receptor (TCR), and influences downstream signals that determine thymocyte fate. Mutations or alterations in THEMIS expression can lead to severe immunological disorders, such as autoimmune diseases and immunodeficiencies. Given its pivotal role in T-cell maturation and function, the study of THEMIS has garnered attention in both basic immunology and therapeutic applications, including vaccine development and cancer immunotherapy. Researchers continue to explore its structural properties, functional mechanisms, and potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target. Understanding THEMIS's role could provide valuable insights into T-cell biology and broader implications for immune system health and disease management.
