Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
VGF (non-acronymic) is a neuropeptide precursor that plays a significant role in the regulation of energy homeostasis, neuroplasticity, and the response to stress. Originally identified in the central nervous system, VGF is encoded by the VGF gene, which produces multiple biologically active peptides through post-translational modifications. Research indicates that VGF expression is influenced by various physiological conditions, including exercise, fasting, and neurodegenerative diseases. The understanding of VGF's biological functions has attracted attention for its potential implications in metabolic disorders and mood regulation. Consequently, the recombinant production of VGF and its derived peptides is crucial for elucidating their specific roles and mechanisms in various biological contexts. This includes investigating VGF's impact on neuronal survival, synaptic plasticity, and the modulation of behavioral responses. Advances in recombinant protein technology enable the generation of active VGF peptides, facilitating in vitro and in vivo studies. Such research can contribute to the development of therapeutic strategies targeting conditions linked to VGF dysregulation, such as obesity, depression, and neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, the study of VGF recombinant proteins stands at the intersection of neurobiology and translational medicine, paving the way for innovative approaches to understanding complex physiological processes and developing novel interventions.
