Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SRD5A3 (steroid 5 alpha-reductase 3) is a crucial enzyme that plays a significant role in the biosynthesis of steroid hormones by catalyzing the conversion of progesterone into 5α-dihydroprogesterone. Variations and dysfunctions in the SRD5A3 gene have been linked to various health conditions, including congenital adrenal hyperplasia and other steroid-related disorders. Researchers are particularly interested in the recombinant forms of SRD5A3 for their potential applications in therapeutic development and disease modeling. The expression of SRD5A3 as a recombinant protein allows for in-depth studies of its enzymatic mechanisms, substrate specificity, and interactions with inhibitors. Understanding the structural and functional characteristics of SRD5A3 can provide insights into the regulation of steroidogenesis and may unveil new targets for drug discovery, particularly in the context of hormone-related diseases. With advancements in protein engineering and purification techniques, scientists are now able to obtain high yields of functional SRD5A3, facilitating biophysical and biochemical analyses that are crucial for understanding its role in human health and disease. These studies pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating steroid pathways in pathological conditions, emphasizing the importance of SRD5A3 in both basic and applied biomedical research.
