Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SORL1 (Sortilin-related receptor) is a key protein involved in the trafficking and processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP), and its dysfunction is implicated in Alzheimer's disease. Research has shown that SORL1 plays a crucial role in determining the fate of APP within the cell, influencing whether it is processed into amyloid-beta peptide, which aggregates to form amyloid plaques—a hallmark of Alzheimer’s pathology. Genetic studies have identified variants of the SORL1 gene that are associated with increased risk for Alzheimer's, highlighting its significance in neurodegenerative processes. The functional properties of SORL1 are further complicated by its interactions with other proteins, impacting both neuronal health and synaptic function. Given its central role in APP metabolism and the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease, SORL1 is a promising target for therapeutic interventions. Researchers are increasingly focused on the structural and functional characterization of SORL1 recombinant proteins to better understand its role in disease mechanisms and explore potential strategies for modulation. By studying SORL1 at the molecular level, scientists aim to unravel the mechanisms by which it contributes to Alzheimer's disease, paving the way for the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
