Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SMC2, a member of the Structural Maintenance of Chromosomes (SMC) protein family, plays a crucial role in chromosome organization and segregation during cell division. The SMC proteins are known for their involvement in essential cellular processes, including DNA repair, replication, and structural maintenance of chromosomes. Research into SMC2 has gained significance due to its essential functions in maintaining genomic stability, which has implications in cancer biology, as aberrations in chromosome dynamics often lead to tumorigenesis. Recent studies have highlighted SMC2's interactions with other key regulatory proteins, elucidating its role in the formation of the cohesin complex, which is vital for sister chromatid cohesion during mitosis. Additionally, alterations in SMC2 expression and function have been linked to various genetic disorders, underscoring the necessity for a deeper understanding of its mechanistic functions. Investigating SMC2 offers potential avenues for therapeutic interventions, particularly in targeting malignancies where SMC2 is upregulated. Thus, the ongoing research on SMC2 not only enhances our understanding of fundamental cellular processes but also opens new frontiers in cancer treatment and genetic disorder management.
