Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC8A3, a member of the sodium/calcium exchanger family, plays a crucial role in maintaining calcium homeostasis within cells, which is essential for various physiological processes, including muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and cellular signaling. Its primary function involves the transport of sodium ions into the cell in exchange for calcium ions, thereby regulating intracellular calcium levels. Dysregulation of SLC8A3 has been implicated in several pathological conditions, including cardiac disorders and neurological diseases, making it a significant target for therapeutic intervention. The recombinant expression of SLC8A3 protein in various expression systems facilitates detailed studies of its structure, function, and interaction with other cellular components. Researchers utilize techniques such as site-directed mutagenesis and electrophysiological measurements to investigate the mechanisms by which SLC8A3 operates and its role in cellular physiology. Furthermore, generating high-purity recombinant SLC8A3 allows for advanced studies, including drug screening and the development of potential modulators. Understanding the functional dynamics of this exchanger could provide insights into novel treatment strategies for diseases associated with calcium mismanagement and thus holds significant promise for advancing biomedical research and therapeutic applications.
