Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC6A13, also known as the sodium-dependent GABA transporter, is a member of the SLC6 family of transporters that plays a crucial role in regulating neurotransmitter levels in the central nervous system (CNS). It primarily functions to uptake gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) from the extracellular space, thereby modulating inhibitory neurotransmission and maintaining neuronal excitability. Dysregulation of SLC6A13 has been implicated in various neuropsychiatric disorders, including anxiety, depression, and epilepsy, highlighting its significance in both basic and clinical neuroscience. The study of SLC6A13 recombinant proteins is vital for understanding its structural and functional properties, which can shed light on the mechanisms underlying its transport activity, substrate specificity, and potential therapeutic targets. Additionally, the development of SLC6A13 inhibitors or modulators may provide new avenues for treating CNS disorders linked to GABAergic dysfunction. Using techniques such as site-directed mutagenesis, electrophysiological assays, and radiolabeled substrate uptake studies, researchers aim to characterize the biophysical properties and pharmacological profiles of SLC6A13, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of its role in neurobiology and its potential as a drug target.
