Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC18A1, a member of the solute carrier family, encodes the vesicular monoamine transporter 1 (VMAT1), which is crucial for the storage of monoamines such as dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine in synaptic vesicles. This protein plays a significant role in neurotransmission and has been implicated in various neurological disorders, including Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, and depression, where monoamine dysregulation is often observed. Research on the recombinant SLC18A1 protein aims to elucidate its structural and functional characteristics, including its transport mechanisms and interactions with various ligands. By producing and studying recombinant VMAT1, researchers can investigate its pharmacological properties, examine the effects of potential inhibitors or substrates, and explore how genetic variations in SLC18A1 may influence neurotransmitter dynamics and contribute to neuropsychiatric conditions. Furthermore, understanding the molecular basis of VMAT1 function can aid in the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting monoamine transport in treating disorders associated with monoamine imbalance. Overall, the study of recombinant SLC18A1 protein represents a critical step in unraveling the complexities of neurotransmitter regulation and its implications for brain health.
