Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The serotonin transporter (SERT) is a pivotal protein responsible for the reuptake of serotonin from the synaptic cleft back into presynaptic neurons, playing a crucial role in regulating serotonergic signaling in the central nervous system. Aberrant SERT function has been implicated in various neuropsychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, making it a significant target for antidepressant therapies, particularly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Research into SERT has expanded to explore its structural properties, functional dynamics, and interaction with other molecules, benefiting from advancements in techniques such as cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography. Understanding the conformational changes and substrate-binding mechanisms of SERT not only enhances our grasp of serotonin dynamics but also informs the development of novel pharmacological agents. Recent studies have also been investigating the role of genetic variations in SERT that may influence individual responses to SSRIs, thereby paving the way for personalized medicine approaches in the treatment of mood disorders. Overall, ongoing research into SERT is essential for unraveling the complexities of serotonergic neurotransmission and developing more effective therapeutic strategies for related psychiatric conditions.
