Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
COL5A1 (Collagen Type V Alpha 1 Chain) is a crucial component of the extracellular matrix, primarily involved in the formation of connective tissues. This protein plays a significant role in the structural integrity, strength, and elasticity of tissues, which makes it vital for normal physiological functions. Mutations or dysregulation of the COL5A1 gene have been linked to several connective tissue disorders, including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which is characterized by hyper-flexibility, skin hyper-elasticity, and increased susceptibility to injury. The study of COL5A1 recombinant proteins has gained importance in understanding the biological functions and pathogenic mechanisms associated with these disorders. By producing recombinant COL5A1, researchers aim to investigate its structural properties, interactions with other extracellular matrix components, and the effects of specific mutations on its function. Furthermore, these recombinant proteins can be used in preclinical models to explore potential therapeutic approaches for related diseases. The advancements in recombinant DNA technology have made it possible to produce COL5A1 in sufficient quantities for in-depth biochemical studies and potential clinical applications, such as tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Consequently, the research on COL5A1 recombinant proteins not only elucidates fundamental biological processes but also holds promise for developing innovative treatments for individuals affected by connective tissue disorders.
