  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

SGOL1 (Sgo1) is a crucial protein involved in the regulation of chromosome segregation during cell division. It plays a significant role in ensuring the accurate distribution of chromosomes to daughter cells, thus maintaining genomic stability. Aberrations in chromosome segregation can lead to aneuploidy and contribute to various diseases, including cancer. The importance of SGOL1 is underscored by its function in the spindle assembly checkpoint, where it helps to prevent anaphase onset until all chromosomes are properly attached to the mitotic spindle. This checkpoint is vital for cellular integrity and the prevention of tumorigenesis.

Research into SGOL1, particularly through the development of recombinant proteins, is essential for elucidating its mechanisms of action and interactions with other cell cycle regulators. By studying the recombinant SGOL1 protein, researchers can explore its structural features, binding partners, and functional domains, which could pave the way for novel therapeutic strategies targeting dysregulated cell division. Furthermore, understanding the role of SGOL1 in various cellular contexts enhances our knowledge of its potential as a biomarker for certain cancers and as a target in cancer therapy. Thus, the investigation of SGOL1 recombinant protein not only contributes to fundamental cell biology but also holds promise for advancing cancer treatment and improving outcomes for patients with chromosomal instability.
