  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

SETDB2, a member of the SET domain-containing family of methyltransferases, plays a crucial role in epigenetic regulation by mediating the tri-methylation of histone H3 at lysine 9 (H3K9me3), a mark associated with transcriptional repression and heterochromatin formation. Its functions extend beyond chromatin modification, influencing various cellular processes, including stem cell maintenance, development, and DNA damage response. Recent studies have highlighted the significance of SETDB2 in human diseases, particularly in cancer, where its dysregulation correlates with tumor progression and metastasis. Given its pivotal role in gene expression regulation and chromatin dynamics, researchers have focused on characterizing SETDB2 and its interactions with other cellular factors to elucidate its mechanisms of action. The recombinant form of the SETDB2 protein allows for detailed biochemical studies, enabling researchers to investigate its enzymatic activity, substrate specificity, and potential as a therapeutic target. Understanding the functional properties of SETDB2 is essential, as it may provide insights into novel epigenetic therapies aimed at restoring normal gene expression in diseases where SETDB2 is perturbed. This research not only contributes to our fundamental knowledge of epigenetic regulation but also holds promise for developing innovative therapeutic strategies in cancer and other disorders linked to epigenetic dysregulation.
