Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SETD8 (SET domain containing 8), also known as SETD8/PR-SET7, is a histone methyltransferase that specifically modifies histone H4 at lysine 20 (H4K20) by adding a methyl group. This post-translational modification plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including transcription regulation, DNA damage response, and cell cycle progression. Dysregulation of SETD8 has been implicated in several diseases, particularly cancers, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention. Recent studies have shown that aberrant SETD8 activity can lead to genomic instability and contribute to tumorigenesis. As a result, understanding the molecular mechanisms by which SETD8 exerts its functions has become a significant focus in cancer research. Recombinant SETD8 protein serves as a valuable tool for investigating its enzymatic activity, substrate specificity, and interaction with other proteins and histone modifications. By studying the functionality and regulation of SETD8 through recombinant proteins, researchers aim to elucidate its role in epigenetic regulation and to explore its potential as a drug target, paving the way for the development of novel cancer therapies that can modulate histone methylation dynamics.
