  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The cobB gene encodes a member of the CobB protein family, which is involved in the biosynthesis of cobalamin, commonly known as vitamin B12. This protein plays a critical role in the conversion of precursors into the active form of cobalamin through post-translational modifications. The significance of cobB extends beyond vitamin synthesis, as it is implicated in regulatory pathways that influence microbial metabolism and virulence. Studies have demonstrated that cobB is essential for the survival and adaptation of certain pathogens in varying environments, making it a target for potential therapeutic interventions. Additionally, research has shown that recombinant cobB protein can serve as a valuable tool for understanding the mechanisms of cobalamin biosynthesis and its regulation. Investigating the structure, function, and interactions of cobB can provide insights into metabolic pathways and contribute to the development of novel antimicrobial strategies. Consequently, the study of cobB recombinant proteins not only enhances our knowledge of essential biochemical processes but also may lead to advancements in biotechnology and medicine.
