  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The study of gyrA recombinant protein is rooted in the growing need to understand the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, particularly in bacterial pathogens. GyrA is a subunit of DNA gyrase, an enzyme critical for DNA replication and transcription in bacteria. This enzyme introduces negative supercoils into DNA, which is essential for the proper function of DNA during cell division. The emergence of quinolone resistance, primarily through mutations in the gyrA gene, has become a significant public health concern, especially in multi-drug resistant strains of pathogenic bacteria like Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. These mutations often lead to alterations in the binding affinity of antibiotics, rendering them ineffective. By studying gyrA recombinant proteins, researchers aim to elucidate the structural and functional consequences of specific mutations, which can provide insights into the mechanisms of resistance. Moreover, understanding the role of gyrA in bacterial physiology can aid in the development of novel antibacterial agents that circumvent current resistance mechanisms. Additionally, the ability to produce gyrA protein recombinantly facilitates high-throughput screening of potential inhibitors and enhances our comprehension of the protein's interactions within the larger context of bacterial cell biology. This research not only contributes to the basic understanding of bacterial genetics but also holds promise for developing targeted therapies to combat antibiotic-resistant infections.
