  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CBX4, or Chromobox 4, is a member of the Polycomb group (PcG) proteins, which are essential for chromatin remodeling and transcriptional repression. This protein plays a pivotal role in maintaining gene silencing during development and cellular differentiation. Researchers have shown that CBX4 is involved in various biological processes, including stem cell maintenance, cellular aging, and oncogenesis, as it influences the expression of genes critical for these functions. Dysregulation of CBX4 has been implicated in several cancers, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target. Given its importance in epigenetic regulation and the intricate mechanisms of gene expression, the study of recombinant CBX4 protein has gained attention in the fields of molecular biology and cancer research. Understanding the structure and function of CBX4 can provide insights into its interactions with other chromatin-associated proteins and its role in establishing epigenetic landscapes. By generating and characterizing recombinant CBX4, scientists aim to elucidate its biochemical properties, regulatory mechanisms, and potential roles in pathological states. This research not only enhances our comprehension of fundamental biological processes but also holds promise for developing novel therapeutic strategies in diseases associated with epigenetic alterations.
