  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

KRT1, or Keratin 1, is a crucial protein in the formation of the epidermis and plays a significant role in skin barrier function. It belongs to the keratin family, a group of fibrous structural proteins that provide mechanical support and resilience to epithelial cells. Research into KRT1 has gained attention due to its involvement in various skin diseases, including ichthyosis and other keratinization disorders. Mutations in the KRT1 gene lead to abnormal keratinocyte development and impaired skin function, resulting in clinical manifestations such as dry, scaly skin. The study of KRT1 recombinant proteins has opened new avenues for understanding keratinocyte biology and developing therapeutic interventions for related skin conditions. Recombinant KRT1 can be expressed and purified to study its structural properties, interaction with other proteins, and role in skin pathology, significantly contributing to drug discovery and regenerative medicine. Advances in genetic engineering and protein expression systems have enabled researchers to produce KRT1 at scale, facilitating in vitro assays and potentially laying the groundwork for future clinical applications, including gene therapy and skin grafting techniques. Thus, research on KRT1 not only enriches our knowledge of skin biology but also holds promise for innovative approaches to treat and manage various dermatological disorders.
