  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

FIS1, or mitochondrial fission 1, is a vital protein that plays a critical role in mitochondrial dynamics, especially in the processes of mitochondrial fission and fusion. Mitochondria, known as the powerhouses of the cell, are dynamic organelles that undergo continuous changes in morphology and distribution to adapt to cellular energy demands and stress conditions. The FIS1 protein is integral to the fission process, facilitating the division of mitochondria, which is essential for maintaining mitochondrial function, cellular health, and energy metabolism. Dysfunction in mitochondrial dynamics is associated with various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic syndromes, and other age-related conditions. Therefore, understanding the structural and functional characteristics of FIS1 is crucial for elucidating its role in mitochondrial biology. Recent research has focused on characterizing FIS1 and understanding its interactions with other proteins involved in mitochondrial dynamics, providing insights into how alterations in FIS1 expression or function may contribute to mitochondrial dysfunction and disease pathology. The exploration of FIS1 as a potential therapeutic target or biomarker for diseases associated with mitochondrial dysfunction is also gaining interest, highlighting its significance in both basic and clinical research.
