  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PCDHGC5, or protocadherin gamma subfamily C5, is a member of the protocadherin family, which plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling in the nervous system. These proteins are known for their involvement in neuronal development, synaptic formation, and the maintenance of neuronal networks. The study of PCDHGC5 has gained attention due to its potential implications in various neurological disorders, including autism spectrum disorders and schizophrenia. Researchers have focused on the structural and functional analysis of the PCDHGC5 protein to understand its role in mediating cell-cell interactions and its influence on cellular signaling pathways. The recombinant protein form of PCDHGC5 allows for detailed examinations of its binding affinities, structural properties, and biological functions in vitro. Techniques such as X-ray crystallography and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy are employed to elucidate its three-dimensional structure and interaction mechanisms. Additionally, functional assays using genetically modified cell lines help to establish the physiological relevance of PCDHGC5 in neural contexts. Understanding this protein’s role could provide insights into its contribution to the molecular underpinnings of neural development and the etiology of related disorders, paving the way for potential therapeutic strategies. As ongoing research continues to uncover the complexities of PCDHGC5, it stands as a promising candidate for future studies aimed at tackling neurological conditions linked to cadherin-mediated processes.
