Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The study of gABRa4 recombinant protein is rooted in the growing understanding of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors, which are fundamental to the functioning of the central nervous system (CNS). GABA receptors, particularly the types A and B, play pivotal roles in inhibitory neurotransmission, impacting various physiological processes such as anxiety, mood regulation, and motor control. The alpha 4 subunit, or gABRa4, is of particular interest because it contributes to the unique pharmacological properties of certain GABA receptors. Research has shown that alterations in gABRa4 expression and function are linked to various neurological disorders, including epilepsy and anxiety disorders. Recombinant protein technology allows for the production of gABRa4 in a controlled manner, enabling detailed investigation of its structure, function, and interaction with ligands and drugs. The ability to purify and characterize this protein provides critical insights into its role within GABAergic signaling pathways and its potential as a therapeutic target. By generating gABRa4 recombinant proteins, scientists can explore the effects of mutations, analyze receptor dynamics, and screen for compounds that may modulate receptor activity, thereby contributing significantly to the development of novel treatments for CNS disorders. This research not only enhances our understanding of GABA receptor biology but also paves the way for innovative approaches to tackle major psychiatric and neurological illnesses.
