Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SMPD4, or sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 4, is an important enzyme that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and cellular signaling pathways. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of sphingomyelin to produce bioactive lipid molecules, such as ceramide, which are involved in various physiological processes, including apoptosis, inflammation, and cell differentiation. Recent studies have highlighted the significance of SMPD4 in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic syndromes, suggesting that it may serve as a potential therapeutic target. Understanding the structure and function of recombinant SMPD4 protein can provide insights into its enzymatic mechanisms and regulatory roles in cellular contexts. Moreover, the ability to produce recombinant SMPD4 allows for biochemical and biophysical studies that could facilitate the development of small-molecule inhibitors or activators, paving the way for novel therapeutic strategies. The investigation of SMPD4’s role in disease mechanisms is particularly pertinent, as it can shed light on how dysregulation of sphingolipid metabolism contributes to pathological conditions. Overall, the research surrounding SMPD4 recombinant protein not only enhances our comprehension of sphingolipid biology but also opens avenues for innovative drug discovery aimed at modulating its activity in disease states.
