Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
NEK8, or NIMA-related kinase 8, is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including cell cycle regulation, DNA damage response, and ciliogenesis. Research into NEK8 has gained significance due to its associations with human diseases, particularly its potential role in kidney development and ciliopathies. Mutations in NEK8 have been linked to autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD) and other renal disorders, highlighting its importance in nephrology. Furthermore, NEK8 is involved in the regulation of the cell cycle and mitotic progression, which suggests its relevance in cancer biology as well. Significant interest has emerged around NEK8's functional mechanisms, including its interactions with other regulatory proteins and its involvement in signaling pathways related to cellular stress and tumorigenesis. Understanding NEK8 at the molecular level, including the characterizations of its recombinant protein, is essential for elucidating its functions and mechanisms of action. The study of NEK8's recombinant protein can provide insights into its enzymatic activity, substrate specificity, and potential as a therapeutic target, paving the way for new strategies in treating related diseases. As a result, the exploration of NEK8 and its recombinant form stands at the intersection of cell biology, nephrology, and oncology, emphasizing the need for further research to fully harness its biological significance.
