  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

NEK5, short for NIMA-related kinase 5, is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation and mitosis. Its importance has garnered attention in cancer research, particularly due to its overexpression in various malignancies. NEK5 is involved in centrosome function, spindle assembly, and chromosomal stability, making it essential for the proper division of cells. Dysregulation of NEK5 activity can lead to mitotic errors and contribute to tumorigenesis. The study of recombinant NEK5 protein has become pivotal for understanding its molecular functions and interactions within the cell. By producing NEK5 as a recombinant protein, researchers can investigate its enzymatic activity, identify potential substrates, and elucidate its role in oncogenic processes. Additionally, studying NEK5 in vitro provides insights into its mechanisms of action and helps in the development of targeted therapies aimed at inhibiting its function in cancer cells. Given the kinase's involvement in critical cellular processes, NEK5 represents a promising target for developing novel cancer treatments and enhancing our understanding of malignancy-related cellular dynamics.
