Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
OB (Obesity) protein, also known as leptin, is a key hormone involved in regulating energy balance and body weight. Discovered in the mid-1990s, leptin is primarily secreted by adipose (fat) tissues and acts on receptors in the hypothalamus to modulate appetite and energy expenditure. The research surrounding OB protein has expanded significantly, as its role extends beyond energy regulation to influencing various physiological processes, including metabolism, immune responses, and reproductive functions. The identification of leptin's signaling pathway has provided insights into obesity and metabolic disorders, leading to potential therapeutic targets for interventions in obesity-related conditions. Additionally, genetic variations in the leptin gene and its receptor have been linked to differences in body weight and susceptibility to obesity in various populations. Current studies are also investigating the interplay between OB protein and gut microbiota, as well as its implications in chronic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular conditions. Overall, understanding the complexities of OB protein and its biological functions remains crucial for developing strategies to combat obesity and associated health issues.
