  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MT1H (Metallothionein 1H) is a member of the metallothionein family, which consists of low-molecular-weight, cysteine-rich proteins that play crucial roles in metal ion homeostasis, detoxification, and protection against oxidative stress. Research on MT1H has gained prominence due to its potential implications in various physiological and pathological processes, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and inflammatory conditions. Elevated levels of MT1H have been observed in certain cancer types, suggesting a role in tumor proliferation and resistance to therapy. Moreover, its expression is regulated by heavy metals, oxidative stress, and pro-inflammatory cytokines, positioning MT1H as a key player in cellular responses to environmental stressors. The intricate regulation of MT1H, combined with its interaction with metal ions like zinc and copper, highlights its significance in maintaining cellular redox balance and protecting against metal toxicity. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying MT1H function may provide insights into its potential as a biomarker for disease diagnosis and prognosis, as well as a therapeutic target in conditions associated with dysregulated metal metabolism and oxidative damage. Thus, ongoing research aims to elucidate the precise roles of MT1H in diverse biological contexts, further emphasizing its importance in health and disease.
