  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PIEZO2 is a mechanically activated ion channel that plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including touch sensation, proprioception, and pain perception. It is primarily expressed in sensory neurons, where its activation in response to mechanical stimuli, such as pressure or stretch, leads to the influx of cations into the cell, generating electrical signals that are transmitted to the nervous system. Research into PIEZO2 has gained momentum due to its implications in several sensory disorders and diseases, such as congenital insensitivity to pain and certain forms of dysesthesia. Understanding the structure-function relationship of PIEZO2 at the molecular level is essential for unraveling its mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. Recombinant PIEZO2 protein has become a valuable tool for these studies, allowing scientists to investigate its biophysical properties, ion selectivity, and interactions with other cellular components in a controlled environment. Through techniques such as patch-clamp recordings, bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET), and X-ray crystallography, researchers aim to elucidate the conformational dynamics and activation mechanisms of PIEZO2. By leveraging advanced molecular biology techniques, the study of PIEZO2 not only enhances our understanding of mechanotransduction pathways but also holds promise for developing novel strategies for treating sensory disorders linked to its dysregulation.
