Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PRRT2 (Proline-rich transmembrane protein 2) is a protein that has garnered significant attention in the field of neuroscience and genetic research due to its association with various neurological disorders, particularly familial epilepsy. Mutations in the PRRT2 gene have been linked to conditions such as benign familial infantile seizures (BFIS) and other seizure disorders, highlighting the protein's crucial role in neuronal stability and functionality. Understanding the structure and function of PRRT2 is vital for unraveling the mechanisms underlying these epileptic disorders. Research has indicated that PRRT2 interacts with key synaptic proteins and is involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release, thereby impacting synaptic transmission. Additionally, due to its proline-rich domain, PRRT2 is thought to play a role in protein-protein interactions, which are essential for maintaining neuronal networks. Recombinant PRRT2 proteins are being studied to elucidate their functional properties and interactions, aiming to provide insights into how alterations in PRRT2 contribute to neurological pathologies. This research not only enhances our knowledge of PRRT2's biological role but also opens up potential avenues for targeted therapeutic strategies in treating related epileptic conditions. As epilepsy remains a major global health challenge, understanding the intricacies of proteins like PRRT2 presents significant opportunities for advancing both scientific knowledge and clinical applications in neurology.
