Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PREP (Prolyl Endopeptidase) is an enzyme that plays a significant role in various physiological processes, including protein degradation and metabolism of neuropeptides. Its ability to cleave substrates at proline residues makes it crucial for modulating biological activities, particularly in the nervous system and various diseases. Research has shown that PREP is involved in cognitive functions and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, where altered levels of neuropeptides may contribute to pathological symptoms. Additionally, PREP has garnered interest in the context of inflammation and obesity, linking it to metabolic pathways. Understanding the structure and function of PREP, as well as developing recombinant PREP proteins, is essential for investigating these connections further. Recent advancements in genetic engineering and protein expression technologies enable the production of recombinant PREP, providing valuable tools for studying its biochemical properties and therapeutic potential. By exploring its mechanisms and interactions, researchers aim to uncover novel insights that could lead to targeted interventions for a variety of conditions associated with PREP dysregulation, thereby offering new avenues for treatment strategies in neuroscience and metabolic diseases.
