  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The study of RBD (Receptor Binding Domain) recombinant proteins has gained significant traction in recent years, particularly in the context of viral research and vaccine development. RBDs are crucial components of various pathogens, including coronaviruses, as they are responsible for binding to host cell receptors, facilitating viral entry. In the case of SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19, the RBD of the spike protein has emerged as a key target for therapeutic interventions and vaccine formulations. By expressing RBD as a recombinant protein, researchers can investigate its immunogenicity, explore potential modulator interactions, and develop neutralizing antibodies. The ability to produce RBDs in various expression systems allows for the optimization of protein characteristics, such as folding, stability, and solubility, which are essential for effective vaccine design. Furthermore, the use of RBDs in serological assays aids in the understanding of immune responses in infected individuals, providing insights into the effectiveness of vaccination strategies. As such, RBD recombinant proteins serve as valuable tools in the ongoing fight against emerging infectious diseases, contributing to the development of safe and efficacious vaccines while enhancing our understanding of pathogen-host interactions.
