Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC5A5, also known as sodium/iodide symporter (NIS), is a critical membrane protein that facilitates the active transport of iodide ions into thyroid follicular cells, playing a vital role in thyroid hormone synthesis. Abnormal expression or mutations in SLC5A5 can lead to iodine deficiency disorders and thyroid-related diseases, including congenital hypothyroidism and certain types of thyroid cancer. The study of recombinant SLC5A5 protein aims to elucidate its structure-function relationship, provide insights into its regulatory mechanisms, and explore its potential as a therapeutic target for thyroid dysfunctions. Advances in recombinant DNA technology have enabled researchers to produce large quantities of functional SLC5A5 protein, facilitating various biochemical assays and structural studies. This research is crucial not only for understanding the physiological roles of SLC5A5 but also for developing novel strategies for diagnosing and treating thyroid diseases, enhancing the overall understanding of iodine metabolism and its implications for human health.
