Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The study of PMVK (Phosphomannomutase/Phosphate Mannose Kinase) recombinant proteins has gained significant interest due to their crucial role in the biosynthesis of GDP-mannose and dolichol-phosphate-mannose, which are essential for various glycosylation processes in eukaryotic cells. PMVK catalyzes the conversion of mannose-1-phosphate to mannose-6-phosphate, linking important metabolic pathways that are vital for the proper functioning of cellular processes such as protein glycosylation, cellular signaling, and membrane dynamics. Abnormalities in these pathways can lead to various diseases, including congenital disorders of glycosylation, that manifest as developmental defects and immune dysfunction. The recombinant expression of PMVK allows for the study of its structure-function relationships, the elucidation of its enzymatic mechanisms, and potential therapeutic applications. Additionally, the production and characterization of PMVK can aid in the development of biosynthetic pathways for engineered microorganisms, enhancing their capacity for glycan production, which is increasingly important in biopharmaceutical applications. As researchers continue to uncover the complexities of glycosylation pathways, the exploration of PMVK and its recombinant forms may unlock new avenues for therapeutic intervention and biotechnological advances.
