  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ABCB4, a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family, plays a crucial role in the transport of phospholipids, particularly phosphatidylcholine, across the hepatocyte membrane into bile, thus contributing to bile formation and lipid metabolism. Mutations in the ABCB4 gene are linked to a variety of liver diseases, such as progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC) and liver cirrhosis, highlighting its importance in hepatobiliary function and disease. The study of ABCB4 recombinant proteins has gained prominence as researchers aim to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying its transport activity, the impact of specific mutations, and the protein’s overall role in maintaining bile composition. Additionally, recombinant ABCB4 proteins serve as valuable tools for drug discovery and the development of therapeutic strategies targeting liver diseases. By elucidating the structure-function relationships of ABCB4, scientists can identify potential pharmacological interventions that may restore normal function in patients with ABCB4-related disorders. Thus, ongoing research into the recombinant forms of ABCB4 is essential for advancing our understanding of liver physiology and pathology, paving the way for novel therapeutic approaches in hepatology.
