Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MBTPS2 (Membrane-bound transcription factor peptidase, site 2) is an essential endoprotease that plays a critical role in the activation of sterol regulatory element-binding proteins (SREBPs), which are key transcription factors involved in lipid homeostasis and cholesterol metabolism. Aberrant regulation of SREBP activity can lead to various metabolic disorders, including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Understanding the mechanisms of MBTPS2 function and its role in SREBP activation is crucial for developing therapeutic strategies to combat these conditions. Recent studies have increasingly focused on the structural biology of MBTPS2, revealing insights into its enzymatic activity and its interactions with SREBPs and other cellular components. Additionally, mutations in the MBTPS2 gene have been linked to human diseases, highlighting its significance in health and disease. The research surrounding MBTPS2 recombinant proteins aims to elucidate these mechanisms further, potentially leading to novel approaches for targeting lipid metabolism-related disorders. Furthermore, the development of MBTPS2 inhibitors could provide a promising avenue for therapeutic intervention in diseases associated with dysregulated lipid levels. Overall, the investigation of MBTPS2 not only enhances our understanding of fundamental biological processes but also paves the way for innovative treatments addressing metabolic diseases.
