Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The fat-1 gene, originating from the *C. elegans* nematode, encodes an unusual enzyme known as fatty acid desaturase, which has the unique ability to convert saturated fatty acids into unsaturated fatty acids, thus altering the lipid composition of cells. This enzyme has garnered significant attention in biomedical and agricultural research due to its potential implications for enhancing human health and improving livestock nutrition. Unsaturated fatty acids are critical for various biological processes and are linked to numerous health benefits, including reducing inflammation and the risk of chronic diseases. The ability to express the fat-1 gene in various organisms, including plants and animals, has led to the development of transgenic models exhibiting higher levels of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. These advancements have not only opened new avenues for nutritional interventions but also raised questions about the environmental impacts of modified crops and their long-term effects on food chains. The fat-1 recombinant protein's versatility places it at the forefront of fatty acid research, as scientists explore its mechanisms of action, potential therapeutic applications, and the feasibility of its incorporation into food systems to promote healthier diets. Overall, the fat-1 gene represents a promising tool in the quest to improve dietary profiles and combat nutrition-related health issues globally.
