Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
HPS5, or Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome 5, is a protein that plays a critical role in the biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles. Its involvement in the formation and function of these organelles is essential for various cellular processes, including pigment production, immune response, and proper cell signaling. Mutations in the HPS5 gene are linked to Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome, a genetic disorder characterized by oculocutaneous albinism, bleeding disorders, and pulmonary fibrosis, highlighting the importance of understanding this protein's function and mechanisms. Recent advances in molecular biology and protein engineering techniques have facilitated the study of HPS5, aiming to elucidate its structural properties and functional interactions. Investigating HPS5 can provide insights into the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome, potentially leading to targeted therapeutic strategies. Furthermore, understanding the role of HPS5 in organelle biogenesis may have broader implications for other genetic disorders involving similar pathways, making it a significant focus of research in the fields of genetics and cell biology. As such, characterizing HPS5 through advanced methods like recombinant protein expression and purification is fundamental for further functional analyses and eventual clinical applications.
